Le?la Copti founded COPTICOM Strategy and Public Relations in 2011 and has been its President since. As an entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience working for a shift to a green and social economy, she is known for her sharp strategic insight and her effectiveness in the field. Today, she shares her expertise with a network of more than 70 clients.

She stands out for her skill at rallying people to a cause and bringing out surprising and fruitful partnerships. Notably, she has cofounded and coordinated influential and active alliances in Quebec, including TRANSIT, an alliance for increased funding for public transit, and SWITCH, an alliance of businesspeople and environmentalists wishing to accelerate the shift to a green economy in Quebec. She is a Canadian leader at reconciling the environment and the economy. Among other accolades, her work was recognized in 2018 by the Minister of Environment at the “Climate Leaders’ Summit: Women Kicking it on Climate”.

Le?la has designed several communication strategies as part of major public consultations, including the one leading to the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal’s Metropolitan Land Use and Development Plan in 2012. She has organized several major events, such as the first Canadian Roundtable on the Green Economy in April 2015. She is an expert at coordinating consultative processes, such as the one that paved the way for the creation of the Quebec government’s first sustainable mobility policy, unveiled in April 2018. As a high-level influencer, she is a driving force behind several major mobilizations in Quebec like the public relations and fundraising campaign for the municipality of Ristigouche from 2014 to 2018, for example.

Even before she started her company, Le?la stood out for her rich and varied career in public affairs and communications, working with the public relations firm NATIONAL, Greenpeace Canada and the Conseil régional de l’environnement de Montréal.

Le?la is Vice-Chair of the board of the Conseil régional de l’environnement de Montréal and sits on the board of the Al Gore-founded organization Climate Reality Canada. She has a master’s degree in psychology, is the mother of three children and is a committed citizen and entrepreneur.

Hugo Séguin

Hugo SéguinSenior consultant

For the past 20 years, Hugo Séguin has worked in the government political, associative and financial sectors à Ottawa, Québec and Montreal. A Fellow of the Centre d’études et de recherches internationales de l’Université de Montréal (CéRIUM), he is also a research associate at the Centre d’études sur l’intégration et la mondialisation (CEIM-UQAM) and teaches at the University of Sherbrooke’s école de politique appliquée.

Specializing in international climate negotiations, Hugo focuses on political and government issues relating to transportation, energy and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. He is regularly called upon to advise organizations on their positions regarding those subjects. He has also written many studies and analyses of gas and oil issues for Quebec, of Quebec’s energy policy and of transportation and land-use planning issues. He has served on the boards of Greenpeace Canada and Climate Action Network Canada in addition to chairing the latter organization. Mr. Séguin has been a senior consultant at COPTICOM, Strategy and Public Relations since March 2011.

Marie-Eve Roy

Marie-Eve RoySenior consultant - Quebec office

Marie-Eve has over 10 years of communications management experience in the sustainable development and social change sector.

After starting her career at a PR agency where she completed assignments for private companies from various industries, she chose to devote her efforts to effecting social change and fighting climate change. She joined the équiterre team and worked with them for seven years; first as a project manager in communications and then as director of that department. Charged with overseeing the brand’s positioning and outreach as well as planning all of the group’s communications, she also conducted several public affairs projects concerning energy, transportation and agriculture. She represented the organization at several major conferences and events, including the UN Climate Conferences in Copenhagen and Cancun, for which she contributed to the communication strategies of Canadian environmental groups.
Marie-Eve was then recruited to be the director of communications for ONE DROP, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to water that was created in 2007 by Guy Laliberté, the founder of Cirque du Soleil. There, she worked on a major strategic planning and organizational repositioning project in addition to leading a large-scale public awareness campaign in Las Vegas and with Cirque du Soleil audiences worldwide.

Marie-Eve Roy is passionate about strategic communications and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations from the Université of Québec at Montréal (UQAM) as well as a certificate in Political Science from the University of Montréal. Based in Québec City, she joined the COPTICOM team in the summer of 2014.

Jean-Paul Lejeune

Jean-Paul LejeuneSenior consultant

After four years of distinguished study at the Institut des hautes études des communications sociales (IHECS) in Belgium, Jean-Paul Lejeune has led a 39-year career during which he has practised in most areas of professional communications.

He first spent ten years working as an assignment editor and reporter covering energy and European politics for Belgium’s leading news agency, then became editor-in-chief of the country’s top technology magazine, Industrie. After being approached by Claude Beauchamp, president of business publishing at Transcontinental, he moved to Quebec and became deputy editor then editor-in-chief of Commerce magazine from 1986 to 1992.

Mr. Lejeune then served as a creative consultant, writer and co-host of the RDI business program Capital-actions. He was recruited by Luc Beauregard for a position as senior public relations advisor at National, Canada’s largest public relations firm, where he remained for 13 years. From 2009 to 2011, he was communications director for the Montreal Port Authority. Mr. Lejeune has been a senior consultant at COPTICOM since August 2011.


ALAIN LECLERCSenior consultant

Alain Leclerc has over 30 years of experience in government relations, strategic consulting, public relations, crisis management, communication and event management in associations, as well as in government and international environments.

He began his career in communication at the City of Montreal and the Metropolitan transit agency. Thanks to his sharp sense of strategy, he was recruited by the House of Common's Official Opposition. He would then continue his career in Quebec, with the Minister of Public security, the Minister Responsible for the Metropolis, the Minister of Trade and Industry, and the Minister of Education. After a mandate as head of press services at the Delegation of Quebec in Paris from 2001 to 2004, he came back to Quebec to work in the field of health and social services. He managed the communication teams of the Quebec Association of Health and Social Services Institutions and the Quebec Interprofessional Health Federation until 2019. He has joined COPTICOM as a senior consultant in spring 2019.

Dario Iezzoni

Dario IezzoniSenior consultant

Dario practiced law from 1997 to 2000 before earning is MBA diploma in 2001. From 2002 to 2008, he managed Equita, a wholly-owned subsidiary Oxfam-Québec devoted to Fair trade coffee and chocolate. Under his leadership, Equita will experience a rapid and profitable growth in Quebec and Ontario. The implementation of its branding and integrated social marketing communication strategy earned him the Marketing personality award from Montreal’s marketing Association in 2004.

From 2008 to 2015, Dario managed the Sales and Marketing department of Santropol Coffee Roasters in its strategic governance and its repositioning strategy toward the specialty coffee segment. From fair trade to organic all the way to 3rd wave, Mr Iezzoni has acquired a wealth of experiences in strategic alliances building and eco-design while ensuring sustained sales growth.

Industry analysis, business plans, international procurement, green marketing, marketing management, industrial marketing and consumer good marketing, development plans and branding, Dario has practiced and taught all these aspects of business development.

Christophe Aura

Christophe AuraConsultant

Christophe has extensive expertise in national and international policy analysis. Before joining COPTICOM, he worked in the constituency office of both provincial and federal members of Parliament, as well as in the Development Program Evaluation Division of World Affairs Canada. These experiences provide him with a detailed knowledge of government and legislative processes.

As part of his duties at COPTICOM, Christophe is involved in the drafting of several reports and publications, including briefs for the public consultations on Bill 122 on local governments and a groundbreaking study on the impacts of the energy transition on Québec's workforce and businesses. He also does media relations for the firm. He also participates in the coordination of major working groups, including the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Electrification of Transport for the development of its Sustainable Mobility Policy.

Christophe is particularly interested in issues of energy transition, resource management, environmental governance and citizen engagement.

Christophe holds a degree in applied political studies from the Université de Sherbrooke and a master's degree in international development and environmental sustainability from the University of Ottawa. His studies have earned him several distinctions and honours.



Before joining COPTICOM, étienne worked as a political advisor at the National Assembly of Québec from 2013 to 2018. During this period, he became highly versed in issues surrounding energy, the environment, sustainable mobility and the fight against climate change.

During his time in the political arena, he embodied an engaged and collaborative leadership role in an effort to help Quebec go green as quickly as possible. This included authoring multiple strategic positioning plans for the province.

étienne has been particularly committed to examining the energy transition, sustainable and integrated mobility, environmental governance and water resource management.

As part of his duties at COPTICOM, he contributes to developing the social media management strategy of various projects and awareness campaigns, carrying out strategic monitoring and creating content for clients and partners.

étienne holds a trilingual bachelor’s degree (French, English and Spanish) in business administration from HEC Montréal and a master’s degree in political science from Université de Montréal. He also completed a short graduate program in climate change at Université Laval. Based in Montréal, étienne joined the COPTICOM team in November 2018.

Marie-Soleil Pepin

Marie-Soleil PepinExecutive assistant

Marie-Soleil has been working at COPTICOM since April 2016 and has already handled the logistics for several events, including the Sommet sur les infrastructures naturelles du Grand Montréal, organized jointly by the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal and the David Suzuki Foundation, as well as the Table ronde: économie verte et économie sociale at the Maison du développement durable de Montréal.

Before that, she worked at the Collège Mont-Saint-Louis for six years, coordinating events such as open houses, graduations, award ceremonies and major events (conferences, shows, marathons, etc.).

She started her career as a project manager with the Agence Métropolitaine de Transport’s commuter train management team. She later became Director of Operations at EQUITA, Oxfam-Québec’s fair trade subsidiary, where she established a production team with people in a socio-professional integration context.

As a mother and a citizen, Marie-Soleil is involved in her community. She studied art and communication at Université de Montréal in 1994 and is currently studying environmental sciences at UQAM.


PHILIPPE SIMARDProject manager

Philippe Simard specializes in the fields of international eco-politics, Quebec climate paradiplomacy and international cooperation.

Just graduated with a Master's degree in applied studies of the University of Sherbrooke, Philippe has been recruited as a researcher for the Groupe d’études et de recherche sur l’international et le Québec (GéRIQ) and a research professional for the école de politique appliquée of the University of Sherbrooke and the Thème fédérateur en recherche sur les Changements climatiques et l’Environnement of the University of Sherbrooke.

As part of his duties, he has actively contributed in the setting up of the 2nd cycle micro-program on international climate negotiations at the école de politique appliquée of the University of Sherbrooke, and has contributed to the writing of several books, analysis notes and scientific articles about international eco-politics and Quebec climate paradiplomacy.

Since his arrival at COPTICOM as a project manager, Philippe has supported the team on various projects, such as the setting up of the Quebec community of practice on climate communication.


LO?C DE FABRITUSCommunication project manager

Before joining COPTICOM, Strategies and Public Relations as a communication project manager, Lo?c de Fabritus was a parliamentary assistant to Green representatives in the French Senate and the European Parliament from 2008 to 2013. He developed there an expertise in social policies, regional development and housing policies.

Alumni of Sciences Po Aix-en-Provence (Institute of political studies) and graduated with a Master's degree in environmental law of Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris, Lo?c has also acquired skills in social marketing and digital communications.

Established in Montreal since 2015, he was first involved with Equiterre before he joined the Quebec Fair Trade Association as a project manager in citizen's mobilization and partnerships development. He also worked at Quintus marketing. Lo?c was a member of the board of directors of Equiterre for 3 years, and he is also the president of the board of directors of Environnement Jeunesse since 2018.

As a communication project manager, Lo?c participates in developing communication strategies for various projects, in writing content for our clients and partners, and he his our social media community manager.


ANDRéANNE GAGNONCommunication project manager

After her studies in public relations and visual arts, Andréanne first worked in the cultural sector before joining COPTICOM, Strategy and Public Relation. She has played several key roles in coordination and cultural mediation for VU PHOTO, Productions Recto-Verso, the Canadian Institute of Quebec, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and more recently the McCord Museum, where she coordinated the institution's public relations and promotional activities. She has developed her skills in writing, media relations and content creation, in addition to managing the coordination and distribution of all printed communication tools.

Very involved in her community, she held the positions of administrator, treasurer and vice-president for several years on the boards of directors of EXMURO arts publics, Folie/Culture and Engramme - Centre de production en estampe et diffusion en art actuel, respectively. She has also been actively involved in Public Relations Without Borders (PRWB) and World University Service of Canada (WUSC). She has received several scholarships and distinctions, and her artistic work has been supported by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and the Canada Council for the Arts, among others.
